What kind of gift to give on one's 100th anniversary? This question has been answered in quite an unselfish manner by jubilee company
BOGE KOMPRESSOREN from Bielefeld-Jöllenbeck, Germany. On this occasion, BOGE took the opportunity to ask their guests for a donation in favour of the STUDIENFONDS OWL e.V. (East Westphalia-Lippe
scholarship award fund), whose objective is to materially and non-materially support students of the five existing universities in a target oriented way.
A check for € 25,000 was handed over
to the representatives of the STUDIENFONDS OWL (Manager Katja Urhahne and Chairman of the Executive Board Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Risch) by the BOGE Managers Wolf D. Meier-Scheuven and Rolf Struppek.
In order to round up the received amount, BOGE did not hesitate to dig deep in its pockets again: "We are a future oriented company and consider university education as an investment into the future
- and that goes together pretty well", declared Wolf D. Meier-Scheuven, managing partner of the Bielefeld machine manufacturer, who is strongly convinced of the necessity of encouraging the further
development of the regional educational infrastructure. "We would like to express our thanks to all those who, with their donations of 20 up to 1,000 Euros, helped to make this donation
possible."
STUDIENFONDS OWL In order to promote and finance brains in OWL (East Westphalia-Lippe), STUDIENFONDS 2006 was created and intended as an educational offensive for the East
Westphalia-Lippe region. The five East Westphalia-Lippe public schools of Bielefeld, Paderborn, Detmold, Lemgo and Höxter decided to make use of their academic cash injections and award schol-arships to
their most brilliant students. The entire association is scheduled to be transformed into a foundation in the early spring of this year.
"He who performs well shall not be prevented from
studying for financial reasons. Because studying in East Westphalia-Lippe means ensuring a long term stability for the entire region - and that is our objective", emphasizes Professor Dr. Nikolaus
Risch.
BOGE Founded in Bielefeld by Otto Boge in 1907, the company, over the generations, has grown from its small beginnings to a strong and successful family enterprise. The machine
manu-facturing company is now run by its fourth generation, offering a comprehensive range of compressors and compressed air solutions worldwide, but still deeply rooted in the East Westphalia-Lippe
region.
In its 100th anniversary year, BOGE managed to achieve a two digit growth and, for the first time in its history, exceeded the 100 million Euro turnover target. This positive development
is particularly due to substantial exports to foreign markets. The company is presently selling compressed air receivers to more than 80 countries. In this conjunction, BOGE was able to create a total of
150 new jobs over the past 10 years.
