No longer a compressed air representative? The tasks remain the same.
As part of its efforts to reduce bureaucracy, the German government plans to abolish the requirement to appoint a compressed air representative. What initially sounds like a relief raises a crucial question for many companies:
Who will now monitor the efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the compressed air system?
The compressed air officer often had much more than a formal role—he was the central point of contact for monitoring, operational safety, and efficiency monitoring. If this internal function is eliminated, the tasks still remain:
Energy Efficiency Act
Water Resources Act
Operational Safety Ordinance
Internal audit and documentation obligations
In short: fewer formal obligations – same technical and organizational tasks.
