Since its foundation in 1907, BOGE has combined traditional engineering with technological progress. The company invests around five million euros a year in research and development. The management devotes a significant proportion of its time developing new technologies and business models, such as predictive analytics, IoT-based services and data-driven process optimisation. “We believe innovation is not a buzzword, but a corporate obligation,” emphasises Dr. Sebastian Göbel, Managing Director of Technology at BOGE. "We operate in a dynamic market with major competitors. Our competitive edge is based on technical excellence, short decision-making processes and the willingness to implement ideas faster."
BOGE specifically promotes innovation throughout the company. Around 500 optimisation suggestions are submitted each year through a comprehensive change management system. Each individual suggestion is systematically evaluated and around half of them are put into practice. This structured approach significantly improves efficiency and has a noticeable positive impact. In addition, BOGE relies on interdisciplinary development structures, regular workshops and a digital low-threshold suggestion system to optimise processes in the development, production and administration sectors.
The innovation strategy of the family-owned company covers the areas of digitalisation, new business models, ecological and social sustainability and long-term megatrends. The integration of INMATEC nitrogen and oxygen generators is a key part of the consistent development of the portfolio. With this step, BOGE is extending its expertise into a pioneering field and can offer customers a truly comprehensive solution from a single source. "The Top 100 seal sends a powerful message," says Dr Björn Six, Managing Director Market at BOGE. "It shows our customers that we combine the compressed air and gas supply with a spirit of innovation, efficiency and responsibility. And it shows our employees how valuable their commitment is – because their ideas are the foundation of our success.”
356 companies applied for the 33rd edition of the TOP 100. The award ceremony for this year's top innovators will take place on 26 June at the Heidelberg Congress Center in Germany.
