Nitrogen is used in the food industry as a protective gas or packaging gas to slow down the aging of food by displacing oxygen, thereby extending its shelf life.

The safety of protective gases is generally confirmed by approval in accordance with the Additives Regulation (EC) No. 1333/2008. According to this, nitrogen with the designation “E941” may be used as a preservative.

The use of INMATEC PN nitrogen generators produces nitrogen of impeccable quality that is safe and harmless to health and therefore suitable for use in the beverage and food industry. This was tested and confirmed by an independent institute in February 2025.

Our nitrogen generators are continuously developed and produced in accordance with the certified quality management system DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. You can find the food safety certificate on our web portal myBOGE. We will also be happy to provide you with the document on request.

We welcome any questions you may have about our nitrogen generators.
