ALMOST 120 YEARS OF BOGE

From pioneering work to compressed air specialist

In 1907, Otto Boge founded the company, starting out by selling door closers manufactured by his brother. After the First World War, Otto Boge quickly made a name for himself with special tools for the fledgling automotive industry and with motorcycles. Eventually, BOGE became a specialist in compressors and compressed air systems...

The first C series is launched on the market. With its new compact design, BOGE revolutionises the world of screw compressors. Later, our full range was supplemented by innovative turbo and scroll compressors.

Our locations

The headquarters of the owner-managed family business is located in Bielefeld, Germany. Our largest production site is also situated here. Other production sites for BOGE quality products are located in Großenhain in Saxony, in Herrsching am Ammersee in Upper Bavaria and in Shanghai in China.

BOGE Bielefeld
Bielefeld is home to all corporate services as well as the location for IT operations and the sales offices for the German and international markets. Occupying some 25,000 square metres, it is also the largest BOGE production site. A 3,000 square metre logistics centre constructed in 2009 is also located here. In total, around 450 employees work at the headquarters of the company founded in 1907.

BOGE Großenhain
In February 2014, BOGE opened its production site, BOGE Komponenten GmbH&Co.KG, in the city of Großenhain in Saxony. Almost 40 employees operate state-of-the-art manufacturing technology on a production and assembly area of 4,500 square metres. High-tech machining centres ensure an automated production process. The BOGE compressor stage forms the 'heart' of all BOGE compressors and is manufactured here.

INMATEC in Herrsching am Ammersee
INMATEC joined the BOGE family in 2023, expanding the joint range of services in compressed air and gas generation. Founded in 1993, the company is associated with globally renowned nitrogen and oxygen generators 'Made in Germany'. At the Herrsching site, around 30 specialised employees develop, produce and support the systems, with support from sales, service and a state-of-the art training centre.

BOGE Standort Shanghai in China
BOGE Shanghai
BOGE Shanghai was founded in 2001 as a sales location, before adding its own production facilities in 2003. Around 50 employees develop and manufacture machines here for China and South-east Asia, including the SO, SL and SC series as well as high-performance screw compressors designed specifically for the Asian market. Like the parent company, BOGE China is synonymous with proven, innovative technology.
