High-tech textile production: DELCOTEX reduces energy consumption by 35 percent

Oil-free compressed air for maximum precision

The production of technical textiles requires maximum precision and efficiency. DELCOTEX relies on state-of-the-art weaving technology for this – supported by powerful turbo compressors from BOGE. The compressed air systems not only enable oil-free production, but also save up to 35 percent energy.

By choosing BOGE turbo compressors, DELCOTEX is setting an example for sustainability in the region and technological innovation in the textile industry.

Technical textiles with a wide range of applications

Whether as conveyor belts in airports, roof coverings for supermarkets, or bulletproof vests, the technical textiles produced by the Bielefeld-based family business DELCOTEX are extremely versatile. They are manufactured using air-jet looms, in which compressed air transports the thread from one selvedge to the other at speeds of up to 300 km/h. A reliable compressed air supply is essential for this. Until now, DELCOTEX has used maintenance-intensive and costly screw compressors for this purpose.

Switch to turbo compressors from BOGE

In order to reduce energy consumption in production, the manufacturer opted for T 220 turbo compressors from the Bielefeld-based compressed air specialist BOGE.

“We had the choice between a costly overhaul of our old compressors or investing in a more efficient solution. We opted for BOGE, partly because of their proximity and the good working relationship we have with them,” explains Lutz Burghoff, Head of Operations and Technology at DELCOTEX.

Efficiency, heat recovery, and Class 0 air

The turbo compressors save up to 35 percent more energy compared to the previous solutions. In addition, the compressors in BOGE's T series deliver oil-free Class 0 compressed air and, thanks to their compact design, are ideal for hygienically sensitive textile production processes.

In addition to their high efficiency, the compressors offer the option of heat recovery. This means that the heat generated in the compressed air process can be reused for other production steps, such as heating water to up to 90 °C.

Digital networking for maximum operational reliability

Another advantage of the new solution is digital networking: the Smart Service Tool BOGE connect continuously monitors all important operating parameters of the compressors. This allows potential malfunctions to be detected at an early stage and optimization opportunities to be identified.

"The compressors not only offer us a high degree of reliability, but also maximum planning security thanks to the comprehensive maintenance concept. That's why we plan to use additional models from the T series in the future to better accommodate production peaks," summarizes Lutz Burghoff.

Sustainability and innovation for the textile industry

By choosing BOGE turbo compressors, DELCOTEX is sending a clear signal for sustainability in the region and for technological innovation in the textile industry.
